UYCA Teleconference on Mediation

 

Betty Noreen of North Star Youth Mediation Program will present a short program on peer and victim-offender mediation. This will be followed by discussion and review of specific cases.

This is an introduction to an alternative restorative justice model. Fairbanks youth have been working with this concept and it has, as Betty will explain, applications in some cases.

                   20 to 25 minutes, Exercises & Application/Role Play                   

10 minutes, Questions & Answers

 

 

North Star Youth Mediation Program is offering the following classes this summer for youth between the ages of 12 and 18. The courses will give those youth an opportunity to participate in mediation activities. The courses are: Peer and Victim-Offender Mediation:  June 11 - 15 and Parent-Teen Mediation:  July 11 – 13, 2007.

 

Your local Youth/Teen Court director or coordinator can give you the phone number to participate in this conference. There will be door-prizes for student volunteers and a SPECIAL door-prize for the Court with the most participants.

11th Annual State Youth Court Conference

 

Washington State Youth Courts and Alaska Youth Courts will join to have a regional conference in Washington State. Organizers are developing the conference at this time.
